A lack of resources can act as a major roadblock to success for those who are venturing out in a business when they have never done it before. Some of us are less than thirty years old, new to the game and certainly don’t have enough money to launch a successful business, let alone a roof over our heads. One reason why I truly believe that people feel they have a lack of resources is because people think that obtaining these resources is unrealistic. The thought of getting investors or business loans is too risky or something you may not know too much about. The beautiful thing is that you have all of the power in the world to change that. It’s a choice. The more you think that something is too unrealistic, the more it becomes unrealistic. Your negative thoughts will start to become reality which will lead to frustration and your drive going out the window.
As you all know, some people are born into money and some are not. Some have the fortune of having resources at their fingertips to utilize to their benefit when the going gets tough. That’s awesome. However – as unrealistic as this may sound, think about what I’m about to say. If Donald Trump, Bill Gates or anyone else can do it – why can’t you? They’re not any smarter or well off than you are, but I bet you they have more drive and dedication than you do! I bet you those two examples are some of the most focused, dedicated people you’d ever meet, which single handedly explains why they are who they are today. Be honest with yourself in answering this question – how committed are you?
The solution is simple and it all boils down to belief in you. This is not another one of those motivational pieces – it’s the truth. If you believe in yourself and believe that your vision is strong enough to be a reality, it will become a reality. Write your vision down on paper. Jot down everything you’ll need to make that vision come true. Lastly, do whatever it takes to make it happen. This will be the true test for you to assess your level of passion for what it is that you’re trying to accomplish. How bad do you want it? Don’t have the money for that business? Then put together a business plan so flawless that any investor would be stupid not to contribute. Save money for a while or put together fundraisers so you get to start working on your dream. Instead of tucking your tail between your legs and giving up, take control of the fate of your small business and do what it takes to make it a success. If you are not willing to put in the time to enhance and ensure the growth of your project, you will not succeed, and that’s a promise.
Be rigorous. Do not wait. The time is now.
